CDA – Cluster Development Programme

In collaboration with United Nations Industrial Development (UNIDO) CDA’s are trained and coached to assist small holder farmer groups operating in clusters or cooperatives to become sustainable. Activities are based on a cluster specific market driven value chain. A CDA should be able to develop, interpret and implement a full diagnostic study on a product specific network/cluster of farmers based in a specific rural geographical area.
The role of a CDA(3-5 years involvement)

  • Identification of cluster objectives
  • Formulation of a collective cluster strategy
  • Implementation, coordination and management of cluster till sustainable
  • Linkage to pre-identified markets
  • Conflict resolution
  • Facilitation and strengthening of networks and role of stakeholders
  • Monitor outcomes
